Itinerary
Day 1 – Saturday – Grapevine, TX – Texas Star Dinner Theater
Arrive today in Grapevine, TX and check into the Hyatt Place Dallas Grapevine for a three-night stay.
This evening, enjoy a Murder Mystery at the Texas Star Dinner Theater. A night you won’t forget complete with a delicious dinner and dessert, a well-stocked cash bar, and a side-splitting show. Immerse yourself in an award-winning 90-minute murder mystery dinner theater performance set in the 1880s of the wild west of Texas. Test your investigation skills and solve the murder mystery. Take photos with the cast after the show to round out a great night of fun! (D)
Day 2 – Sunday – Dallas, TX – Sixth Floor Museum – Reunion Tower Observation Deck – West Village Shopping – George W. Bush Presidential Library – Southfork Ranch Tour & Dinner
Today features a visit to Dallas where you can take in a little presidential history. Start by learning about the life, legacy and tragic death of President John F. Kennedy at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. View fascinating and stirring films, photographs, scale models and the Reading Room – the museum’s extensive library of books, audiovisual resources and more. A stop is also made at the JFK Memorial.
Next, visit Reunion Tower and GeO-Deck. Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, the GeO-Deck at Reunion Tower offers you the only indoor/outdoor observation deck in the city with unique views of Dallas and its surrounding communities from 470 feet in the air! As it is affectionately known by locals, “The Ball” has been a staple of the Dallas skyline since 1978.
Enjoy some free time for lunch on own and shopping in the West Village neighborhood of Dallas which offers over 100 restaurants, shops, rooftop bars, live music venues, wine bars and more! It’s also centrally located and well connected with the rest of the city, as one of the only neighborhoods that can be accessed by Trolley.
The afternoon also includes a visit to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. With its state-of-the-art interactive exhibits, the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum gives visitors an in-depth look at eight years of American history, the American Presidency, and important issues of public policy. Have your picture taken in the oval office as well as experience the interactive Decision Points Theater and the 911 Memorial.
End the day at the famous Southfork Ranch where you have a chance to relive the exciting moments from the “Dallas” TV Series. There is an exciting array of memorabilia here see the gun that shot J.R., Lucy’s Wedding Dress, the “Dallas” Family Tree, and Jock’s Lincoln Continental. You’ll also see inside the home, including J.R.’s bedroom. This is a chance to remember the Love, the Wars and never-ending drama of the Ewing Family. Afterwards, a highlight dinner is included. The group leader will be able to choose from The Ewing Barbecue, Lucy’s Country Craving, or J.R.’s Steak Dinner. Return to Grapevine for the evening. (B,D)
Day 3 – Monday – Grapevine Vintage Railroad – Exclusive Solar Eclipse Watch Party – Grapevine Wine Tour w/Dinner
This morning it’s all aboard for the new Great Train Heist on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Keep an eye out for greedy outlaws onboard the Grapevine Bear Creek Short Line. Join in on the fun, and help railroad detectives solve the mystery of who robbed the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. The excursion starts in Downtown Grapevine at the Cotton Belt Depot. Passengers will then ride along the rails on the historic Cotton Belt Route for 30 minutes before returning to the Grapevine Depot.
Following your train ride, the day also features an exclusive Solar Eclipse Watch Party on Peace Plaza, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.! A solar eclipse happens when, at just the right moment, the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth.
Each person in the group will receive a wristband for entry. Your group will have a reserved table and enjoy live music, guest speakers, local food and an unobstructed view of this amazing event! Also included is a $60 meal and beverage card good at Harvest Hall (food hall) and everyone receives a 2024 Eclipse swag bag (valued at $200)!
You can also visit the Grapevine Observation Tower, which offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding Grapevine area from 150-feet above.
After the Solar Eclipse, the afternoon features a Grapevine Wine Tour and Dinner. Texas is the fifth largest wine-producing state in the U.S., and Grapevine has served as a trendsetter in wine culture and a leader in the Texas wine industry with award-winning festivals celebrating the fruit of the vine as well as wineries and winemakers for more than 25 years.
Your tour will include visit to two wineries with generous tastings, and tours at each location. During the drive to the wineries and between stops, a professional tour guide will describe the history of Grapevine and specifics of the local wineries and the booming Texas winemaking business. End the day with a fantastic meal with wine at a local restaurant. (B,D)
