Itinerary

Day 1 – Middlebury, IN – Das Dutchman Essenhaus Dinner – Shipshewana Lights of Joy

Arrive today in Middlebury, IN where you enjoy a two-night stay at the Essenhaus Inn (or similar).  Tonight, enjoy dinner at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus. After dinner, enjoy shopping at the Village Shops all on the same facility grounds. Shop for quilts, baked goods, home décor, ladies’ apparel, Vera Bradley, jewelry and more. Celebrate the holidays by enjoying the numerous festive trees, décor, and Christmas lights on the grounds.

Then end the day with the Shipshewana Lights of Joy.  Drive through this light display occurring on the grounds of the famous Shipshewana Flea Market. More than 2 million LED lights and specialty displays will be viewed in a 25-minute period in an almost mile and a half long symphony of colorful light scenes. (Lights of Joy available November 15-17, 22-24 (Friday-Sunday) & Nov 29 – Dec 31 (seven days/week) (D)

Day 2 – Christmas Shopping at the Davis Mercantile – Blue Gate Lunch & Christmas Show 

Start the day with Christmas Shopping at the Davis Mercantile which is filled with 4 floors of a variety of boutique shops filled to the rafters. Take time to ride back in time on the hand-carved wooden full-size Carousel. Feast on the warm, fresh-out-of-the oven pretzel. At the Davis Mercantile, you’ll find something for everyone on Santa’s list!

Next, enjoy delicious lunch at the Blue Gate Inn Restaurant before a matinee performance of “Songs of the Season.” Christmas has always been about singing. So, get into the Christmas spirit with the Shipshe Jubilee Singers as they present a delightful mix of classic carols, contemporary hits, and timeless melodies. Listen to this amazing array of vocalists from concert halls and theaters stages across America!

The beauty of glistening snow and the fun of silver bells and sleighrides – Songs of the Season! brings it all together as people from far and wide come to the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana. Be ready to join in as we sing “Jingle Bells”, “White Christmas”, “Silent Night”, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, “Away in The Manger”, “Rudolph” and many others. You’ll laugh, you’ll sing, you’ll remember – but most of all, you’ll leave with a heart full of Christmas cheer!

Day 3 – Linton’s Enchanted Gardens Holiday Village – Depart for Home

This morning, after breakfast, visit the winter wonderland at Linton’s Enchanted Gardens Holiday Village where the scent of fresh pine and mulled cider fill the air. Linton’s offers 50,000 square feet of spectacular seasonal displays including 100 themed trees that feature over 10,000 unique ornaments. There is something for everyone on your list including ladies’ apparel, jewelry, Vera Bradley handbags, garden tools, home décor, candies and various other holiday goodies make your holiday shopping easy at this one-stop-shop.

Following your visit, depart for home. (B)
