Itinerary
Day 1 – Calgary
Arrive at Calgary Airport and meet motorcoach and driver. Dinner on own. Three Nights at Banff Caribou Lodge.
Day 2 – Banff
Full Day tour of Banff to include the Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, and the Hoodoos. Ride on the Baff Gondola. Cruise on Lake Minnewanka. Dinner at a nice Banff restaurant. Photo stop at Lake Louise.
Day 3 – Icefields
Enjoy a sightseeing tour on the Icefields Parkway. Highlights include: Bow Lake and Athabasca FAlls. At the Columbia Icefields, you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier. Dinner in Banff.
Day 4 – Train Banff to Kamloops
Rocky Mountaineer Railroad travels from Banff to Kamloops. You will climb over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. There is a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, and along rocky lakeshores.
Highlights include: Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and of course the glaciers and snow-capped peaks. Overnight lodging in Kamloops. Dinner show options for Kamloops.
Day 5 – Train to Vancouver
Day two of travel on the Rocky Mountaineer Railroad continues toward the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley.
Highlights include the steep slopes and rock journey sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon. Travel ends in Vancouver this evening. Depart train, and transfer to your Vancouver Hotel for a three night stay.
Day 6 – Vancouver
Vancouver City Tour to include Gastown, the Historic District, Chinatown (one of the largest Chinese communities on the Continent), the High Fashion Shopping District on Robson Street, and Canada Place (the Cruise Ship Terminal).
Bus stops in Stanley Park to see the Totem Poles and Granville Island to see artists’ studios, craft galleries and the Granville Island Public Market. Dinner in Chinatown. Celebration of Light Fireworks Display starts at 10:00 pm
Day 7 – Victoria
BC Ferry Vancouver to Victoria. Enjoy Victoria sightseeing that includes exotic Chinatown, Historic Antique Row, Victoria’s Inner Harbour, scenic views of Mt. Baker and San Juan Islands. Your tour includes admission to Butchart Garderns. Dinner on own.
Day 8 – Depart
Hotel checkout, airport transfers, depart for home.
