Itinerary
Day 1 – Key West
Arrive in Key West for a three night stay. Dinner is included this evening at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and is followed by free time on the Pier to enjoy the Sunset Celebration.
A nightly arts festival on Mallory Square features arts, crafts, street performers, psychics and food carts. The performers appearing nightly include jugglers, escape artists, musicians, magicians, tight rope walkers and other colorful acts. (D)
Day 2 – Coral Reed Snorkeling Option
Today begins with the Conch Train Tour. You see the sights, learn the history and get a nice overview of this Island Resort. Also included is a visit to Truman’s Little White House. This was the winter White House of America by Harry Truman from 1946 to 1952. It was also used by later Presidents including Eisenhower and Kennedy.
This afternoon you have an option of Coral Reef Snorkeling at $40 per person, or you can enjoy shopping and sightseeing on your own in the historic district. Those of you who decide to go snorkeling will learn about the tropical fish and diverse varieties of coral that distinguish reefs in the Florida Keys from others.
You will travel on an air-conditioned 65 foot Catamaran, with two restrooms, a sundeck, unlimited soft drinks and water. The crew will provide expert snorkel instruction and sanitized gear. Your return to Key West is late afternoon. Your motorcoach will shuttle you back to the hotel so you can freshen up and enjoy another evening on Mallory Square. (B)
Day 3 – Dry Tortugas National Park
This exciting full day adventure begins at 8:00am. It includes several activities which you can participate in or watch depending on your physical ability.
Our air-conditioned Catamaran makes the 70 mile journey to Dry Tortugas quickly and comfortably. A continental breakfast is served as the morning cruise departs. Soft drinks, water and ice tea are available throughout the day.
You may relax inside the comfortable cabin or on the sun deck. First stop in Dry Tortugas National Park is Fort Jefferson one of the best preserved and largest coastal forts ever built.
You’ll enjoy this tour and learn of Civil War History, and the Forts later use as a base for seaplanes and torpedo boats. Included in the cost of your cruise is instruction and sanitized snorkeling equipment for a dive off these pristine beaches. The ship also comes equipped with a fresh water rinse as the afternoon ends. Our cruise also includes a nice lunch onboard. Return time to Key West is approx 5:00pm. (B,L)
Day 4 – Depart
After breakfast, depart for home. (B)
