Day 1 – Today, you travel to Mobile, AL. Check into the Drury Inn for a two night stay.
Dinner is included tonight at Wintzell’s Oyster House, a historic landmark on Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile. Wintzell’s is Mobile’s oldest restaurant at its original location, founded 1938 as a 6-stool oyster bar. Thousands of humorous signs and historical memorabilia cover the restaurant.
Day 2 – After breakfast, begin your day at Bellingrath Gardens. It is the 65-acre public garden and historic home of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, located on the Fowl River in Theodore, near Mobile, Alabama. Walter Bellingrath was one of the first Coca-Cola bottlers in the Southeast, and with his wealth built the estate garden and home. He and his wife, Bessie, lived in the home which has since been converted into a museum. Since the Gardens opened to the public in 1932, they continue to welcome visitors to enjoy year-round floral pageantry.
Lunch is included today at either the Festival of Flowers Garden Cafe or Bellingrath Gardens.
The highlight of the day is the Festival of Flowers. Savor one of Mobile’s most “scentsational” experiences! The Festival of Flowers, produced by the Providence Hospital Foundation, celebrates its 24th year with its most impressive array of blooming beauty. This is a celebration of the talents of the South’s best florists, garden designers and landscape architects. Inspired by the Chelsea Flower Show in London, the festival took root in 1994 and has blossomed into the premier garden and flower event of the Gulf Coast. Covering eight acres and staged beneath 300,000 square feet of white tents, guest are entertained, educated and inspired by landscaped gardens, spectacular floral designs and flowers of every hue.
Tonight, enjoy Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. Enjoy over three hours of lively entertainment, delicious food, a uniquely beautiful historic setting, a hilarious and engaging evening. Performance located at either the Azalea Manor or Carnival Museum (based on availability). Each Mobile Mystery dinner evening features unlimited white and red wine bar, a full, multi-course buffet dinner, two hours of “whodunit” hilarity, and if the play is at the museum a tour of the Mobile Carnival Museum. There is always a prize given to the best “detective” after the play as the guests all get involved with trying to guess who did the terrible deed!
Day 3 – After breakfast, depart for home.
