Day 1 – Bristol, VA – Carter Family Fold – Arrive at the Charlotte or Atlanta Airport. Travel to Bristol, VA and check into your hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner is included enroute back to the hotel.
Then enjoy the Carter Family Fold music show. In keeping with the traditional music style, no electrical instruments are allowed (everything is acoustic) and there’s lots of dancing and fun. This is not your typical Country Music show.
Day 2 – Gospel Brunch – Renfro Valley – This morning enjoy a Gospel Brunch at the Heartwood Crafter Center in Abingdon, VA. Heartwood is your gateway to Southwest Virginia craft, music, food and local culture. Buffet items featuring food grown and harvested on farms within Southwest Virginia. Followed by live Gospel music.
Next, travel to Renfro Valley, KY and visit the Bittersweet Cabin Museum. Get a glimpse of history of the Appalachian way of life through displays and artifacts arranged in each cabin and throughout the village. Discover over 150 years of Kentucky history with these authentic cabins, furnishings, tools and artifacts dating back to the 1700’s. There is also a gift shop is full of handmade crafts from local gifted artisans including baskets, bonnets, brooms, wood crafts and much more.
Then tour the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. It honors Kentucky performers, songwriters, publishers, promoters, managers, broadcasters comedians and other music professionals who have made significant contributions to the music industry in Kentucky and around the world.
Check into your Renfro Valley hotel for an overnight stay. Tonight enjoy a family style Boarding House Dinner. Followed by the Front Porch Pickin’ Show in Old Barn Theater.
Day 3 – Nashville – City Tour – General Jackson Lunch Cruise – Travel to Nashville, TN where you will be staying for two nights. This afternoon, enjoy a General Jackson Lunch Cruise. It is the world’s grandest showboat that offers a delicious meal and world-class entertainment while cruising the majestic Cumberland River.
Then take a Homes of the Stars Tour. See the homes of Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, and many other stars as you enjoy a driving tour through the neighborhoods of the elite country music artists.
Dinner tonight at the Loveless Cafe. The Loveless Cafe remains unchanged in the country charm and cooking that has made it a landmark in the South since its doors opened over half a century ago.
Day 4 – Hall of Fame – Wildhorse Saloon – Grand Ole Opry- This morning enjoy a self-guided tour of Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. For more than 40 years, the Museum has been home to thousands of priceless artifacts, images, and sounds that have inspired young and old from around the globe.
Then your group will have a private songwriting session. You will work exclusively with a professional songwriter who will help you come up with a catchy tune which your group will record at Studio B. Followed by lunch at the Wildhorse Saloon where your song is broadcast for the first time.
Tour the Ryman Auditorium. Known as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman Auditorium has been one of the country’s premiere concert venues for more than 100 years. It is also a National Historic Landmark and former home of the Grand Ole Opry.
You will have free time this afternoon to do a little shopping or sightseeing. Followed by dinner at a conveniently located restaurant. Tonight, you have reserved seats tonight for the Grand Ole Opry. For more than 85 years, country’s best have mesmerized audiences at the Opry, the show that made country music famous. Each Opry show features an array of performances by new stars, superstars and legends of country music as well as great bluegrass, comedy and more. Opry shows are never rehearsed and never the same show twice.
Day 5 – Memphis, TN – Graceland – Beale Street – Today travel to Memphis, TN and check into your hotel for a two night stay. Stop for Lunch along the way.
Take a Platinum tour of Graceland. This a one-of-a-kind experience will lead you on Elvis’s fascinating journey to superstardom. You will experience the cultural changes that led to the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll and see, first-hand, how Elvis became the most celebrated entertainer in the world.
Travel to Beale Street for Dinner at the Blues City Cafe and sample some of the South’s favorite dishes. After dinner, you will have time to explore Beale Street on your own.
Day 6 – Sun Recording Studio – Stax Museum – Mojo Tour – Start the day with a visit to the Sun Recording Studio. Considered the Birthplace of Rock & Roll, it is where Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley and other Rock Pioneers recorded. Next, visit the Rock N Soul Museum and discover the birth of rock and soul music. Created by the Smithsonian Institution, tells the story of musical pioneers who, for the love of music, overcame racial and socio-economic barriers to create the music that shook the entire world.
Then tour the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. With more than 2,000 cultural artifacts, music exhibits, video footage, and items of memorabilia, the museum is designed to preserve and promote the legacy of American soul music, particularly that of Stax Records.
Dinner is included tonight at a conveniently located restaurant. The evening features a one-of-a-kind driving tour of Memphis’ musical heritage. Your MoJo Tour features live music on the bus, so you are guaranteed to have a good time as you learn about the sights and sounds of the City.
Day 7 – Chattanooga, TN – Jack Daniels – Choo Choo Hotel – Depart this morning for Chattanooga, TN. Stop at the Jack Daniel Distillery, the nation’s oldest registered distillery along the way. Check into the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel for an overnight stay. It is the only Historic Hotels of America resort in Chattanooga, TN. The Terminal Station in Downtown Chattanooga has been converted into the most fun and beautiful of all Chattanooga hotels!
This evening you enjoy dinner at the hotel’s Station House Restaurant with singing waiters.
Day 8 – Pigeon Forge – Dollywood – Dinner Show – Travel to Pigeon Forge, TN. Spend the afternoon at Dollywood. Enjoy live stage shows, Dolly museum, master craftsmen at work, train ride, an American Eagle habitat, and for the very brave the Wild Eagle-America’s First Wing Coaster!, but for those not so brave it is fun to watch.
Check into your Pigeon Forge Hotel for a two night stay. Then enjoy the Grand Majestic Dinner Theater, with several live music shows, including The Hazzard County Hoe Down and America’s Hit Parade.
Day 9 – Smoky Mountains – Country Tonite – Smoky Mountain Opry – This morning, meet your guide for a tour of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. History & Highlights with stop at the “Top of Ole Smoky” where you can stand with one foot in Tennessee and one foot in North Carolina. Plenty of Photo Opportunities.
The afternoon features a matinee performance at the Country Tonite Theater. Country Tonite is pulling out all the stops with a BRAND NEW show – which means new production numbers, new choreography, new lighting effects, new side-splitting comedy, and new costumes. In this fast-paced production you will enjoy a variety of dynamic singing and dancing, side-splitting comedy, powerful gospel, and American patriotism.
Dinner tonight at Applewood Farmhouse followed by the Smoky Mountain Opry. The Smoky Mountain Opry is the biggest production show in the area and features music from the 1940’s through today. And it is not just country! We will feature all different styles of music with tributes to the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Sinatra, Elvis and Michael Jackson and music from such greats as Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and Janis Joplin. Classic rock and roll, oldies, disco, gospel, as well as old country, new country and a foot-stomping patriotic segment round out the show.
Day 10 – Depart – This morning after breakfast, depart for the Charlotte or Atlanta airport.
