Join us in April of 2026 as we begin the celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary in Virginia. In the springtime we feature the Virginia International Tattoo and explore Britain’s Colonial Settlements in Jamestown and Williamsburg, learn about Pre-Revolutionary America and our discontent with British Rule. Then as that chapter ends we celebrate with music from the British Invasion of the 1960’s performed by “Martha & The Sons of Liberty.”

Itinerary
Day 1 – Saturday, April 18, 2026 – Richmond, VA or Charlottesville, VA – Optional Touring
Today begins with afternoon arrival in either of Virginia’s historic cities of Richmond or Charlottesville, where you will trace the footsteps of America’s founding fathers.
Option 1 – In Charlottesville, explore Thomas Jefferson’s iconic mountaintop home, Monticello. Discover the architectural brilliance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site and gain insights into Jefferson’s life, his innovations, and his vision for the new nation. Then enjoy a Colonial Welcome Dinner at Michie Tavern: Enjoy a hearty colonial-style meal at this historic 18th-century tavern, complete with period entertainment and costumed staff, offering a warm and authentic welcome. Check into your local hotel for the evening (D)
Option 2 – In Richmond, tour the Virginia State Capitol. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, this historic building is a symbol of democracy and a must-see for history enthusiasts. Visit St. John’s Church and stand in the very spot where Patrick Henry delivered his famous “Give me Liberty or Give me Death” speech, igniting the call for American independence. Then visit Tuckahoe Plantation, the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson. This beautifully preserved plantation offers a glimpse into colonial life and Jefferson’s early years.
A Welcome dinner will be included at a local restaurant before checking into your Williamsburg-area hotel for the night. (D)
Day 2 – Sunday, April 19, 2026 – Norfolk, VA – Pre-Tattoo Special Luncheon with Meet & Greet – Virginia International Tattoo Premium Seats – Virginia Beach Oceanfront Lodging – Free Evening on Boardwalk
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a day of patriotic celebration. In Norfolk, VA, enjoy a Pre-Tattoo Special Luncheon with a Meet & Greet featuring real International Tattoo performers performing live while you dine. Learn about the history and significance of the Tattoo while mingling with performers who will be part of the afternoon’s grand event.
Then experience the world-renowned Virginia International Tattoo from premium seats. This spectacular event showcases military bands, drill teams, dancers, and choirs from around the globe. With a special 250th Celebration theme, this year’s performance will be a stirring tribute to America’s fight for freedom.
Following the show, check-in to your oceanfront hotel in Virginia Beach for a two night stay. The evening is yours to explore the famous boardwalk, local shops and attractions, dine on own at one of the many oceanfront restaurants. Relax and unwind with the soothing sounds of the Atlantic Ocean as you lounge on the beach. (B, L)
Day 3 – Monday, April 20, 2026 – Colonial Williamsburg Touring – Second Virginia Convention Reenactment featuring Patrick Henry’s Famous Speech – USA 250th Freedom Celebration Special Event
Following breakfast, start a day packed with history and celebration. Take a guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg. Step back in time to the 18th century as you explore the living history museum of Colonial Williamsburg. Stroll through the streets and interact with costumed interpreters who bring the colonial era to life.
While at Colonial Williamsburg, witness a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention where you’ll see a powerful reenactment of Patrick Henry’s “Give me Liberty or Give me Death” speech. Feel the passion and urgency of the call for independence in this historic performance.
This evening’s highlight is our USA 250th Freedom Celebration, Special Event at the Hampton Convention Center. Enjoy a Welcome Meet & Greet with our entertainers Martha Washington & The Sons of Liberty. Then enjoy Cocktail Hour on the Rooftop Deck, savoring drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a stunning view. That is followed by Dinner and Dancing! A delicious dinner followed by an electrifying musical showdown featuring patriotic American favorites of the 1960s vs. the best of the British Invasion. Dance the night away to hits from both sides of the Atlantic! (B, D)
