Itinerary
Day 1 – Lancaster, PA – Amish-Family Meal – Bird-in-Hand Stage Show
Arriving in Penn Dutch country this afternoon your group will check into a comfortable first class hotel for a two night stay. Your dinner tonight is a traditional Amish Family-Style at the Bird-In-Hand Family Restaurant. It’s fresh wholesome Penn Dutch Food served with large platters of meat, bowls of vegetables, breads and Grandma Smuckers Desserts. So pull up your chair, sit down and enjoy a friendly family dinner.
After dinner, enjoy a show at Bird-in-Hand Stage. Escape your everyday world for a little while and enjoy a live stage show. You’ll find yourself laughing, holding your breath, gasping, tapping your toes – uplifted and fully entertained! The Bird-in-Hand Stage has been delighting audiences since 2011 with Broadway-style musicals from Amish Country, and has quickly become one of Lancaster County’s must-see stops for live performances. Day 2 – Buggy Ride – Kitchen Kettle Village – NOAH at Sight & Sound Theatre
This morning after breakfast, enjoy an authentic Buggy Ride through Amish Farmland. Along the back country roads, you’ll see the Amish growing their crops, such as corn and alfalfa. Some of the Amish farms have remained in the Amish families for hundreds of years, dating back to when the Amish came to the New World in the 1700s. If the Amish country roadside stand is open, your driver will stop for you to purchase some goodies. Your buggy will also pull into a private Amish home, and the Amish girls will come out with a tray of goodies, such as homemade lemonade and root beer.
Your tour is followed by free time at Kitchen Kettle Village. With over 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and plenty of hands-on activities including a self-guided tasting tour in the Jam & Relish Kitchen.
The afternoon features a matinee performance of NOAH at Sight & Sound Theatre, returning for one season to celebrate its 30th Anniversary.
With a catastrophic storm on its way, Noah is given a monumental task: build a boat big enough to save his family from a flood that will cover the entire earth. As Noah endeavors to live faithfully in the midst of an increasingly chaotic world, can he trust that God’s promises run deeper than the rising waters around him?
Returning for one season only, this landmark production takes you on board one of the world’s best-known voyages as live animals fill the stage and aisles. Set sail inside the enormous ark as this extraordinary story comes to life in this special 30th anniversary season!
