This 8 day tour features the best of the American East. New York City’s famous The Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero, Washington. DC’s famous Monuments and Memorials, plus Kennedy Space Center and a day at your choice of Disney theme parks. Itinerary
Day 1 – New York City – Guided Tour – New Jersey Lodging
Arrive New York City by lunchtime. Your first afternoon features a guided tour of New York’s famous places. From Battery Park to Wall Street, Little Italy to Chinatown, into the Theater District, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and more. You’ll see the sights that appear in Movies and television and you’ll get a very nice overview of the City. Dinner will be at a theme restaurant in Times Square. Your hotel is in the New Jersey suburbs and you enjoy a nice two night stay. First class lodging. (D)
Day 2 – Ferry to Statue of Liberty – Free Time – Empire State Building
Today begins on the first Ferry to the Statue of Liberty. You will also have time to visit Ellis Island. Free Afternoon for Shopping or optional sightseeing. Dinner at a wonderful theme restaurant, then this evening you visit the Empire State Building Observatory.
Many of our groups add a third full day in New York and include a Broadway Show. Let us know what you want. (B,D)
Day 3 – Washington DC – Arlington National Cemetery
Morning and afternoon travel takes you across Pennsylvania and Maryland into Washington, DC. On arrival, take the tourmobile through Arlington National Cemetery. It is an impressive sight, with seemingly endless rows of simple white headstones. Imposing stones and monuments mark the graves of many individuals or groups.
Dinner here will be a lovely restaurant overlooking the Potomac River. Two Nights First Class Lodging. (D)
Day 4 – Narrated DC Tour – Smithsonian Museums – Illuminated Monuments Tour
The morning is filled with a narrated tour of Washington, DC. You will see all the famous sights surrounding the National Mall including the White House, U.S. Capitol, various building of Government, Museums and Monuments. The afternoon is free to visit the Museums of the Smithsonian Institute. Choose the one(s) that interest you the most. Air & Space, Natural History, American History, or The National Gallery of Art.
Your dinner this evening is at another exciting local restaurant. Afterwards you enjoy an evening sightseeing tour of the famous monuments. This tour will give you a chance to see the Monuments up close. Enjoy the Lincoln, Jefferson, Vietnam, WWI and Korean Memorials to name a few. (B,D)
Day 5 – Orlando, FL – Downtown Disney
Morning transfer to a Washington Airport and fly to Orlando, FL for a two night stay. You will have time to relax and refresh before the evening’s activities. This evening enjoy shopping, entertainment galore and dinner on your own in Downtown Disney. Divided into 3 sections—Downtown Disney West Side, Downtown Disney Marketplace and Pleasure Island—Downtown Disney area is an ever-changing destination committed to keeping the experiences exciting and new. Choose from dining with dinosaurs to a Disney shopping extravaganza to catching incredible live music and shows! (B)
Day 6 – Kennedy Space Center – Cocoa Beach
Today, visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Get the unique chance to tour – up close – NASA’s launch and landing facilities, experience interactive simulators, enjoy live shows and have jaw-dropping encounters with massive rockets.
Your Kennedy Space Center admission includes IMAX® space films, all exhibits and shows, the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour and the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
The afternoon includes free time at Cocoa Beach. Swim in the ocean, relax on the beach or do a little shopping. Returning to Orlando, dinner is included at a local restaurant this evening. (B,D)
Day 7 – Admission to your choice of Disney Parks
After breakfast, discover Disney World with your admission ticket to your choice of Disney World’s Theme Parks. Choose from The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney Hollywood Studios. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure in Disney World. (B)
Day 8 – Depart for Home
After breakfast, depart for home. (B)
